Contact Lenses are one of the miracles of modern technology.

Today, three and a half million people in the UK enjoy clear, natural and unobstructed vision offered by contact lenses. Contact lens manufacturers are constantly improving lens surface technology to decrease the coefficient of friction.

Contact Lenses’ Feature

Contact lens technology has evolved massively since its inception less than 50 years ago.

The advantage of contact lenses is that the lens moves with your eye, so that you are always looking through the centre of the lens, where vision is best.

Peripheral vision is unobstructed in most cases. People actually see better with contact lenses than they would with glasses.

Common eyesight defects, such as short-sightedness and long-sightedness, are easily corrected with contact lenses, but now conditions such as astigmatism and presbyopia can also be treated very effectively with contact lenses.

Before you can wear contact lenses, one of our qualified practitioners will fully examine your eyes.

We will need to examine the health of you, your eyes, eyelids and the quality of your tears (needed for lubrication of contact lenses) will also be assessed.

The curvature and diameter of the cornea at the front of your eye will be measured, together with the size of your pupils and the positions of your eyelids.

  • Daily Disposable

While not for everyone, who can argue with the effortless simplicity and safety of new lenses everyday?

There is no risk of infection from previously worn specs of dirt and no outlay of time and hassle on cleaning solutions.

  • Disposable

Increasingly sophisticated technology has led to the development of high quality soft lenses manufactured with a view to being replaced within a specified time. The combination of regular replacement and high oxygen transmission make these lenses extremely healthy and comfortable to wear. Disposable lenses are now considered as being our soft lens option of first choice.

  • Extended wear

Most contact lenses are to be worn during the day and removed at night.
The latest advances in contact lens technology has led to the development of Silicone-hydrogel lenses that transmit 6-8 times more Oxygen than standard soft lenses. They are perfectly safe to be worn continuously for up to 30 days.

  • Multifocal

To prove that technology gathers seemingly limitless momentum we are now achieving over 80% suitability rating with multifocal contact lenses. Not dreamt of only a few years ago, now all types and ages can enjoy the benefits of spectacle free life in soft and disposable form.

  • Tinted

Tinted contact lenses can enhance or change the natural colour of your eyes without affecting what you see. These lenses are as comfortable as other contact lenses and available in most prescriptions. The pupil area is clear giving natural vision. The iris is coloured, changing the eye colour.

  • Soft

Made from pliable gel-like plastics, these lenses contain water to allow oxygen to pass more freely to the eye. Such materials are kinder on the eye, more comfortable to wear and adaptation is much quicker than with rigid lenses. The softness and flexibility of the lens is maintained during wear by tear fluid. Thin, high water content lenses are better at transmitting oxygen than thick low water content lenses, but make sure to clean them well.
Since soft lenses contain water, they can become contaminated.

  • Rigid Gas Permeable

These lenses are made from special semi-rigid plastic. This allows more oxygen to pass through them to the surface of the eye, making them much healthier to use. Gas permeable lenses do not cover the whole iris (coloured part of the eye). As these lenses float on your tears there is some lens movement whilst blinking and therefore it takes slightly longer to get used them.
